Vacation 2005:

In July of 2005, our family had the opportunity of taking the trip of a lifetime! Planning for this trip started 2 1/2 years earlier, when during Christmas 2002 celebrations, my parents, some avid "cruisers" in their own right, announced that they would like to take the entire family on a Caribbean cruise to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They emigrated to Canada in the spring of 1955 shortly after their wedding, aboard Holland America Line's passenger liner called the MS Rijndam (II), and they wanted to "re-live" that historic occasion with a cruise vacation with their children and grand children. So after 2 1/2 years of planning and excited anticipation, we boarded a flight bound for Florida...

Due to the number of pictures included, the pages for the Vacation 2005 site are very large, and in an effort to ease downloading pressure on your browser, I have separated them into a number of smaller pages- each page representing a different day. Click on the links above to access the different pages or follow along chronologically using the links at the bottom of each page. My apologies to those of you who are on a dial-up connection... please be patient.

In case anyone is wondering, most of the pictures (with the exception of the ones we purchased from the on-board photographers, and the historic pictures of the ships), were taken with Fujifilm Digital cameras. Either my Finepix S20 Pro, Jim's Finepix S7000 Zoom or Joe's Finepix S5100. Since all the pictures were taken at a very high resolution, I have reduced the size to a more reasonable downloading size. The on-board photographer pictures were scanned for inclusion on the site.
