Inconvenient
truth or global warming swindle: Whereas none of that advice is particularly bad, the heights to which this movement has grown is much more than just promoting clean living. In my opinion, it has grown into a religion of sorts or some may even say a cult! MANY celebrity actors, singers, artists, comedians and politicians are jumping on the band wagon telling us regular folk how BAD we all are if we don't conform to the "green movement" and "reduce our carbon dioxide output". Ironically, most of these folks are preaching their diatribes whilst not doing a darn thing about it themselves! Case in point; a few years ago during the Academy Awards, everyone was preaching about "being green" when just a few minutes earlier, they were all in air conditioned limo's lined up for blocks, all the while idling and spewing out their so called harmful emissions. Lets also not forget that these ultra wealthy celebrity types all maintain huge homes, and in MOST cases, several homes scattered around the globe (e.g. east coast, west coast, European location homes and lets not forget the island vacation home while we're at it!) They are the LAST people we should be taking advice from. The term "hypocrite" comes to mind don't you think? Perhaps one of the most vocal celebrities promoting this view point is the former Vice President of the United States- Albert Arnold Gore Jr. (AKA Al Gore) His film; "An Inconvenient Truth", won a oscar for Best Documentary (amongst other things) at those same Academy Awards I just mentioned, and he was also awarded the Nobel peace prize for his efforts as an environmental activist (together with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) in 2007. For these reasons, I have focused my comments for this web page on Mr. Gore. In an effort to educate myself, I have been doing some research on my own... on exactly what impact mankind has had and is having on our planet's climate past, present and possibly future... In doing so I have watched "An Inconvenient Truth" several times. This film is actually quite well done- it is interesting, has some cool pictures and graphics that kids will find entertaining (there is even some animation for the little ones) and is actually quite riveting. Mr. Gore goes into quite a bit of "detail" about where Earth's climate is heading, while making analytical and anecdotal projections about the significance of man-made influences to the Earth's climate. In watching it, I thought to myself, OH MY GOD! Is it REALLY THAT bad?! The film's message is very clear- We must greatly reduce the amount of CO2 we are releasing into the atmosphere or the planet is doomed! Now I am by no means a scientist, but wait just a minute... I thought carbon and oxygen are natural occurring elements?! Humans are carbon based beings and require oxygen (amongst other things) to survive... so what's the deal?! I also thought that all living vegetation on the planet REQUIRES CO2 to grow in much the same way we need oxygen?! So am I missing something here? Through extensive research which is available to virtually anyone with an internet connection, I have uncovered startling new information contradicting Al Gore and the so called "green movement". "An Inconvenient Truth", although quite entertaining, is also fundamentally flawed in its science! They claim that the increased levels of CO2 brought on by mankind's use of fossil fuels is causing a greenhouse effect which is slowly and steadily raising the average temperature of our planet. In the film, he uses improper statistical methods, short-term temperature trends, and questionable computer models to make many claims which many weather experts have now proven to be false! In fact he and the producers of the documentary now face legal action as a result of inaccuracies in the film... so why isn't CNN, ABC, NBC, FOX news, The Washington Post, USA Today, The New York Times and every other mainstream media outlet talking about this? Why isn't the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences demanding that Al Gore return his Oscar? Why aren't the people at Nobel demanding he return his Peace Prize? The short answer is Money! According to many scientists, in actuality, global warming is NOT occurring. Instead the global climate is CONSTANTLY CHANGING. If you just look at the climate temperatures for the last couple hundred years, (corresponding with mankind's industrial revolution) yes- it does appear that the earth's mean temperature is getting warmer. BUT, when compared to the last 100,000 years, it becomes VERY apparent that the average global temperatures are constantly changing! There are numerous times throughout history when the average temperature of the earth was both much warmer and much cooler than it is right now. Extensive studies have also been conducted to prove that the increase of greenhouse gases DO NOT correlate to a rise in temperature, but it is in fact the other way around! Scientists have proven that the CO2 levels have risen AS A RESULT of warmer temperatures and not that warmer temperatures are caused as a result of increased CO2 levels as claimed by the environmental movement. With regards to greenhouse gases in particular, (since this is what Mr. Gore seems to think is the cause of global warming), consider the following chart showing the composition of ALL greenhouse gases: Anthropogenic (man-made) Contribution to the

This being the
case, Mr. Gore, Mr. Suzuki and the entire green movement is trying to
reduce the greenhouse effect by reducing the 0.28% effect mankind has
on greenhouse gases! The purpose of
these films is to offer the "flip side" of the coin from the
opinions, theories and assumptions made in Al Gore's film. It explains
that the so called
"Global Warming" movement (along with
Gore, Suzuki and MOST of the
world's media etc.) may just have it all wrong. Unlike An
Inconvenient Truth, these documentaries don't make all sorts of
claims quoting "the world's top scientists..." instead they
actually HAVE many of the world's top climatologists, meteorologists
and
scientists (the names & credentials of which are freely available
via Google searches)
explain the relationship between man and weather patterns and
how humans actually have very little (if any) control or effect on
climate change and the

An interesting point they make over and over again is that the green movement is driven by government grant money! (Who would have thought!!!) Those are our tax dollars hard at work folks- money which could be spent on other things such as health care, infrastructure and debt reduction... The Green Movement has grown into a GLOBAL INDUSTRY now and one couldn't even begin to add up what it is worth in terms of financial committment! They will do everything in their power to suppress word that us humans could do very little about climate change- they HAVE TO or their gravy train will end and hundreds of thousands (if not millions) would be out of work... but don't take my word for it... check it out for yourselves! Which leads me to another thing… one wonders why Mr. Gore is SO committed to reducing CO2 emissions in light of all this information that ANYONE and EVERYONE has access to! Either he is an idiot… for not having done his homework… (Which is unlikely... although his politics may not be agreeable to everyone, he is still a very intelligent individual AND highly educated…) or maybe he has another agenda… Did you know he is a chief shareholder in a company that sells "so called" carbon credits? He stands to make BILLIONS through Generation Investment Management Inc. A company he co-founded and serves as chairman: through which he and others trade carbon offset credits. In case you've been living under a rock these past few years, a "Carbon Credit" is a commodity that environmentalists are using to offset one's carbon footprint. The premise being it is ok to use up and exceed your "carbon footprint" (the so called allotted amount of carbon dioxide emission) provided you "buy" credits from someone that has spare... to illustrate- try this analogy (which I read from a favourite columnist in a local newspaper): it would be the equivalent of a fat person claiming he/ she is losing weight by paying a thin person to go on a diet! These "carbon credit" companies invest capitol in solar power, wind power and other projects that reduce fossil fuel energy consumption around the globe… (which places the company in a positive credit category...) That being said, it stands to reason that his movie “An Inconvenient Truth” may just be a marketing ploy to drive his own business efforts! (In much the same way as Disney movies are the marketing machne that drive the sales for the toys, lunch boxes, clothing, other licensed product etc.…) Don't believe me? So let's have a look at what Mr. Gore is willing to do... together, he and his wife Tipper own 3 homes:
For someone rallying to save the planet by pursuing a path of extreme personal sacrifice, Gore demands very little sacrifice for himself. When asked about his environmentally (very) UNFRIENDLY ways, Mr. Gore's response is simple- he explains that he buys carbon credits to offset his and his family's lifestyle back to a zero footprint. WHAT??? He just totally negated the entire theme of his film and is admitting that he is diametrically opposed to the message he is preaching!!! He just spent almost 2 hours telling me I had to REDUCE my carbon emmissions! Does anyone else see the irony and complete hypocrisy here? Is this not the very definition of hypocrite? Are you going to listen to a man like this? Of course, who is to say that the experts that I am getting my information from are 100% correct as well. Well- no one actually... the fact is that NO ONE can predict the future, not Al Gore, not David Suzuki and not anyone else in the environmental activist movement, nor can any of those scientists I have listed below and for that matter, nor can I. Mankind has been trying unsuccessfully to do this since we started walking upright. Who is to say what will happen 10 years from now, 100 years from now, 1000 years from now- NO ONE knows! That is what we call life. But let us NOT just blindly commit billions of dollars in resources based on theory and conjecture, especially since there ARE opposing theories. I simply saying, let ME decide for myself if I want to join their revolution without fear of reprisal from the doomsayers. The way I see it: reducing pollution, reusing bottles, plastic containers & bags, recycling used paper products, cutting down landfill waste, reducing harmful emissions, planting more trees, preserving green space etc, are certainly all very responsible choices to make, and will certainly help make the world a better place for generations to come, but to FORCE people to make these choices, and to require governments/ companies and individuals to buy carbon credits (while lining the pockets of multinationals and men like Mr. Gore), and to prevent developing countries from developing their industrial base by SCARING the general public via these alarmist doomsday opinions is NOT the way to go about it! Especially since there is no scientific proof linking manmade CO2 output to global warming! So now you are wondering why does a guy like me decide to put all this information on a personal family website? Well, actually, Al Gore of all people gave me the idea! At the end of "An Inconvenient Truth" he says (in refernce to how each and every one of us can help guard against global warming), "Learn everything you can about the climate crisis, then put your knowledge into action".
